The original Banjo-Kazooie will apparently be released via the Xbox Live Arcade as of 9am GMT tomorrow, Rare's seminal platformer yours for 1200 Microsoft Points.

Major Nelson, overlord of all things Xbox Live Arcade, breaks news on this retrograde release, and we're promised a paired-down companion to the new Nuts & Bolts version available on the Xbox 360 now.

Classic platforming is on offer, based around a rescue plotline, and there will be mini challenges to beat as you collect useful items across multiple 3D landscapes.

The visuals have been spruced-up somewhat, but this is still firmly old-school territory, so it will be interesting to see how the game fairs following re-release.
